History is crucial in that we can look back and see the good times were not that great. Time is a funny thing. Some say we should live in the now. Understand by the time one gets the word “now” outside their mouth it is already drifting into the past. We must always be looking forward and if we are truthful we must admit that submission to fictional religious ideals and figures along with power grabbing rulers and collectors of wealth is detrimental to our development as a species. We must move into the new because this system is not sustainable and will most likely crash.

Conservatism in the modern parlance could be described as a max-defense political philosophy. Conservatism accomplishes nothing except to act as an emergency brake for progressive ideology. Ensuring that progressive policy isn't implemented too quickly, alerting the public.

I don't think liberalism necessarily believes that "those who are reasoned properly will come to the same conclusions of us" in any bit of a different way than conservatives believe. Both sides beliefs are very dependent on values rather than reasoning. Yes you can make reasoning of your values but different values completely change the contrast of how one sees different values. I encourage everyone to question every belief that they have and challenge them at all the times they can. The truth cannot contradict the truth so you have to be careful when declaring things a truth.

Conservatives want a small government, but the consequence of that is that the power vacuum is filled by big corporations, who now dictate every aspect of your life. So the difference between liberalism and conservatism is who you want dictating the rules: the public or the private sector.
