I'm here trying to understand conservatives for the sake of friendships in my life. I thought this was going to be conservatives are amazing and everybody else sucks. Thank you for being objective. Integrity is a thing. I truly believe that my political opponent is not my enemy. However that seems to be the only way to learn about the other parties is to either accept that you're deplorable or they are.

Thank you for creating this! The animation was great and made it very easy to follow. This was a very useful tool in understanding this philosophy.

I love that you focus on the fundamentals rather than the fridge aspects of American conservatism your presentation was clearly very unbiased. I’m a not a conservative but you explained everything very well from a lay persons perspective.

How to be conservative:

1. Pick a problem in society
2. Instead of seeking a solution, point to the problems with the people trying to solve the problem
3. Scream out to world "look at these peoples problems!"
4. Use that to justify doing NOTHING about the original problem in society
5. *bonus* use this logic to justify supporting the people actually making the problem worse!

Did I get this right?

As an conservative from America, I really liked how you talked about conservatives. I get the sense you are on the more liberal side, but you did very good on shedding light on the good parts and why conservatives think like they do. Very good execution.

Thanks for not just attacking us, but while I don’t talk for all conservatives I think it’s more like we want to see absolute proof of something before we try it rather than being stagnant. This is also why we look back to history for wisdom.

Conservatives start with beliefs, then ignore any demonstrable fact that conflicts with those beliefs.

Aye this is an awesome video. Far from a conservative, but I will show my little brothers this video so they will have a more educated approach to the world as they grow up.

The way I see it, the problem with conservatism is its desire not to allow change, or to change things slowly, is basically about self interest, in that the "current order" benefits conservatives, especially white conservatives, and oppresses many other people. I see some "conservative values" as being things like slavery, racism, discrimination against women and children, wealth supremacy (a superset of white supremacy), discrimination against those who are "different", like LGBTQ+ persons.

I don’t fit in a group of people and prefer not to but I just want to know how my father thinks. I’m in the lgbtq community and I just want to know why he has something against the community. It breaks my heart that he doesn’t support me but I want to know why.

Being too hardcore in either ideology can be a bad thing, however, there are too many flaws with mainstream conservatism, and we are starting to see the fallout now with the disinformation, cultism, and anti-science/anti education contrarianism.

My brother-in law is a conservative who critiques Democrats on who he believe is wrong, but a Republican has the same thing or worse he remains violent observing Ronald Reagan's "thou shall not critique another Republican" 11th commandment. That's conservative philosophy put in to practice.

Conservatives understand that we are all individuals, and we are also part of society. It’s possible to be both, actually.

Well done. Some disagreement, but one of the best on conservatism so far.

It's interesting that my moral upbringing in the area of things like sexuality were very conservative leaning. However, the sense of fairness for minorities that was also instilled in me is quite liberal leaning. And of course personality traits effect my views and feelings. I think most of us have some of both conservative and liberal in our hearts. However, human nature wants to be "right". We then tend to band together with others who agree with our ideas of being "right".
I'm looking forward to your analysis of liberalism! Thanks!

Well done. I think we should revel in the fact that there's different political party's. It's all a part of freedom. When we talk politics with liberals let's be thoughtful and considerate and not attacking no matter if they are.

Conservative ≈ "That's how we did it 50 years ago and it worked for me and my friends - why change something that works for us?"

About right?!

Anything new is bad. Any consideration of other people is bad. You're either a winner or loser - no in between.

That's how Conservatives think.
