How to STOP PS5 System Software Updating & Games (Fast Method)

Do you want to know how to STOP PS5 system software updating and stop your games from updating! You won't download the system software or games unless your manually install them. Go to settings and then go to system. Then go to system software update settings and uncheck mark the auto updates! Also, you can just turn off your PS5 instead of placing it into restmode so nothing downloads when your not using it!

I have all these settings turned off as well and it still downloaded a game update when I started the game. If you don't delete it, it will auto install the next time you start the game.

I've done all these steps except the rest mode features and it's still downloading updates on its own. It's a weird thing to have to turn off 3 separate options to completely disable 1 thing. It's like unchecking a box in Microsoft Word's auto format but it still does the thing we've unchecked because the auto format itself is still on.

This doesn't work at all for game updates. I have them off and it just updated my games using up all my Hotspot data. Thanks a heap Sony. You suck

this is a pain cuase i had just got mortal kombat 1 on ps5 waited for the game to install.
and after the game isntall they hit me with this massive almost 64GB update and still waiting to play cant even play my Phiaical Disk until the latest update for the game install is there anywhere to bypass that ?man this is crap.

I bought a ps5 3 days ago. While playing i have noticed that after 1 or 1.5 hours later my tv blinks a black screen for 1 or less than 1 sec but after that it doesn't happen again and gameplay goes normally. I notice this problem everyday for 1 time only. Is this a problem? Help pls

So I turned off all the settings and restarted my PS5 and when I put the game disc In the system the update still downloaded automatically wtf why Isn’t It working

I just want my game to not update so i play it without patch or anything but the second i turn wifi on the game starts updating i turned everything off it didn't work

doesnt work. you need to block update servers on your router

Does not prevent game patches when launching a game.
Disabling internet is the only solution.

Well, I was going to say that this isn't working, but I guess everybody else here is having the same issue... I`ll just unplug my ethernet cable then.
