This video is meant to provide an answer to the question of what to do in the fall, and in general, how to stay on top of planting dates, as well as other gardening tasks.

Download the ‘Planting Dates For Vegetables’ spreadsheet file here:
(please note, this zip file will need to be extracted. Once you open the file, click “enable editing” and “enable content” to be able to use the table properly. I’ll make a video with more explanation very soon for those with questions about the table ).

I’m looking forward to my first parsnip harvest! And I agree with you regarding potatoes. Anyway, unless you have your own tubers to plant, you’ll be hard-pressed to find seed potatoes this time of year!

Thank you for the info and suggestions. First time for me planting in the fall; rather ambitious experiment with winter lettuce, radish, Chinese leaf mustard, turnip, broccoli raab, and cabbage, in the hope that at least some of those crops come through enough to eat! First preparing the ground for the wet, cold, freeze, and frosts, for ultimate protection; combining the hugelculture and woodchip methods, and covering with a handmade cloche in the hope of warming the ground a little before and after sowing. I may leave the cloche over the crops for the whole duration, but I'll use observation and see how it goes, maybe remove cloche only on warmer days... Thanks again for the tips, especially concerning fruit trees.
I think there's a possibility that a lot of garden centres etc, are sponsored by big or corporate seed companies and producers who would rather keep public ignorant ?

Thanks for the great videos. I follow several gardening channels, and your content is definitely unique/different and extremely practical. Wish there was something similar for Northern California which is so different from Nova Scotia! Btw, the link to the Excel spreadsheet seems to be missing -can you kindly check. Thanks again!
