For those who have scrolled countlessly looking for backbend tips(like I did) and feel like they can’t do it, trust urself. Stay calm and keep your arms strong. Here are some tips that I used when I couldn’t do it and that helped me a lot:
1. Put your arms aligned with your ears and stand straight.
2. Make a triangle with ur fingers and look into the triangle
3. Stick ur butt out and slowly but strongly go down, still looking into the triangle(if u bend ur arms it’s ok)
4. Land softly and either do a kick over or slowly collapse.

As soon as I saw that first fall I KNEW this was the video I needed to see. I'm a former gymnast (from the 70s) and suffered 2 strokes. Now, I am terrified to go back because I felt my arms were not strong enough to catch me. Thanks, @eananas for showing an _actual_ fall. 💖💖

Here are my tips:
- have someone strong who has their backbend coach and spot you
- try using a wedge mat or a hill
- do back flexibility exercises such as bridges, knee bends, and cobra’s
- spread out your legs and bend back slowly

How to do a backbend; ( worked for me)
1. While sitting on your couch go left and right with your back
2.Go to your bed, take a pillow and do a bridge on the pillow
3. Then stand up and make sure your hands are straight
4.Believe in yourself and try to do it with a pillow so you don't hurt your hands
5. Don't be scared and do it in your bed without a pillow
6.Great job!

the biggest tip is to spread out your feet a little more than shoulder width. it's so much better and i was able to fall into the bridge so much easier!
