Is Russia Europe or Asia?

If you look at it geographically, 77% of the Russian territory belongs to Asia. This is the majority of the country. So, are we Asians? Maybe.

At the same time, another 23% (almost a quarter!) belongs to Europe. Are we Europeans then? Maybe, too.

MY OPINION: I would look at the Russian mentality rather than geography.

I see and feel that most of the parts of the Russian culture are more related to the Asian culture (working conditions, family relationships, etc), so I would think we are more Asians than Europeans.

BUT

The beauty is not to be absolute! Our charm is that we are a mixture!

What do you think?

Geographically Europe is not a continent It's just a peninsula of Asia. So geographically all europeans are from Asia. Culturally Russia is European

It’s a European nation, its capital history and culture are in Europe. Siberia was only colonized by Russia and most of it has European culture. They’re only small republic in Siberia. Russians are Europeans. Geographically Russia is in Europe. Search for the definition.

Isn't your history and culture, also language, more closely linked to Europe? Also, the main cities, especially historically.

When referring to continents, there are no “borders”, as they are not sovereign states, but geographical regions. Continents have boundaries between them, not “borders”.

Europe and Asia are actually a single continent (Eurasia). The demarcation between the two isn't really about culture, it's about the extent of easy access between landmasses. Ural Mountains, Caucasus, Caspian Sea, Black Sea, Bosporus straits, Hellespont strait, Aegean Sea, all these places made the access between the mainland territories limited. That's why these specific locations were chosen as the demarcating line.

The demarcation between Europe and Asia is topographical and also partially geological.

The boundaries between Europe and Asia are the:

1. Ural Mountains
2. Ural River
3. Caspian Sea
4. Caucasus
5. the entire coastline of Anatolia/Asia Minor
6. the under-sea boundary between the Aegean micro-plate and the Anatolian micro-plate

hence

i. Ἴμβρος (Gökçeada),
ii. Λαγοῦσες (Tavşan),
iii. Τένεδος (Bozcaada)

iv. Μοσχονῆσι (Alibey Adası)

v. every island in the Gulf of Smyrna (İzmir) (Ἐρμαϊκὸς Κόλπος)

vi. Ταράμπτος/Salih island (Muğla Province)
vii. Ἀρκός/Karaada (Muğla Province)

viii. Ρῶ (Ro)
ix. Μεγίστη (Megisti)
x. Στρογγυλὴ Μεγίστης (Strongyli of Megisti)
and
xi. Κύπρος (Cyprus)

are Mediterranean islands that are part of Asia.

At that point I'd like to state that the boundaries between continents do not affect the political borders between countries, so whatever I mention above is strictly about geography and not geopolitics.

It's not about land it's always decided by ethnicity. You don't belong to Oriental Asian race. You're a Caucasian white women. And Mongols, Chinese, Japanese are the Orientals. South Asians are Asian who are mix of dravidians especially Tamils and other Asian races. So history is mess in south Asia. Even Korean and Japanese islands seems to have few migrations done by dravians so it's really fascinating.

The main problem is that people define “Asians” as a racial term. In reality Asians comes in all shades of skin colors.
