firstly Russia lost around 2.7 million in ww1 another 7 to 12 million in Russia revolution and another estagering 27 Million in ww2, Meaning in a world where those casualties didnt happen russia would have approximately 185 million people,
secondly we think Russia is underpopulated because we look at its entire map, however when shrink it to the european part of Russia its population seems a lot more normal,
you see the only problem is that the huge cold siberia has always been hard to inhabite and it makes entire russia looks underpopulated,
