I’m still not sure why some people make a big deal over whether or not a phone has a glass or plastic back. I don’t know a single person that carries their phone without a case.

I never recommend buying a Pixel at launch unless they increase trade in values because Google constantly puts their phones on sale. My biggest gripe with the 8a is the price being $499. At that point, it’s not a value in my opinion. I feel like it should’ve been $399. Because then it would be $300 cheaper than the 8. However, this phone does have several upgrades that do make it worth buying. I love the aloe color, plastic matte back, flat camera bar, brighter screen, slightly improved battery and 7 years of updates. So it definitely is worth the purchase if you have a trade in and don’t pay full price for it.

FWIW, those of us who have Google Fi as a carrier got an offer for the Pixel 8a for $299. I thought that was a very good deal myself.

Sadly the 256gb option is only available for the obsidian black color and not the others, this killed the phone for me

Fast charging is hard on batteries. Causes overheating and other problems. Your phone is better off in the long run with a somewhat slower charger. Wireless charging works fine in a car to keep it running for wireless Android Auto without worrying about running out of battery. Most of us 'regular' users are not going to even notice, much less miss, the extra capabilities in the Pixel 8.

Got the 256GB version for a bargain here in the UK £350 getting rid of the Redmi Note 13 Pro ive just bought. Just wish they had launched it a couple of weeks earlier.

I'm glad I returned it. The display is a POS and this guy doesn't even point it out. Tilt it barely off axis, and the rainbowing purple appears. It hurts my eyes. It's not as sharp. I had to go up to the Pixel 9. Battery also sucks. Fingerprint sucks.

....me watching this on a Pixel 8A, which I got for "free". I just renewed my current phone plan for 24 months, and got offered the phone for free by doing that. But also, If I should get it cashed, it is around $300 cheaper than the Pixel 8 here.

99% of Pixel users 99% of the time use this phone for browsing and social media apps, like to take photos (and cameras on both are within 5% difference on quality), charge phones at night (besides fast charging is bad for your phone anyway). On top of that, dxo tested display on both 8 and 8a and 8a wins on 3 attributes out of 4 (except for color). Glass back? I would pay more not to get glass back so I can use my phone without a case to show everyone my taste in phone design and not in cases design.
