Bad, but infinitely better than monitor names.
It be like "kinda want to get the XB273UGXbmiipruzx but also tempted by the XV252Q Fbmiiprx 🤔🤔"

I remember in Real Steel where it was the Xbox 720.

No joke, I got a Galaxy Note 10 the later that same day I find out the Note 20 just released.

Fibonacci, bet that next Ryzen gonna be 12000

Yeah... I wish they just put an M after the name. To designate that it is a mobile chip etc. E for efficiency.

Not the most consumer friendly?
Usb- hold my beer
Monitors- hold my 2 beers

Literally killed the chance of a RX6900XT and a Ryzen 9 6900X and 2*16GB DDR5 at 6900MT/s.

I've always wondered where all the other 358 Xbox versions went.

They could just have added an "M" for mobile versions of the same chip

Snapdragon 888 (SM8350), Snapdragon 888+ (SM8350-AC), Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (SM8450), Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (SM8475)

Thankfully they did this to unify the generation with the codename. I thought my laptop had Zen 2 just because it was in the 3000 series, but it had Zen+

Seriously, I don’t think this „skipping“ is confusing. Seems fine to me, since 4000 and 6000 series really exist. What I hate, is that within some 5000 mobile chips, there are chips that are actually Renoir based 4000 chips. This is really confusing and misleading with purposed mine trap.

You know damn right they don’t wanna release the 6900

I was thinking they will only use prime numbers 🤣

And also the number will match the Radeon Graphics Card, Radeon RX7000 with Ryzen 7000

Not to mention Ryzen 2000 desktop chips used Zen+ architecture, while Ryzen 2000 mobile chips used just normal Zen

I’m just sad I can’t get a 6900X to pair with my 6900XT

This is actually a great naming scheme, best in the industry right now. It’s the only way to keep mobile and desktop product names synchronized with the same generation of CPU architecture. Mobile chips come out every year while desktop chips are roughly every two years. One year AMD upgrades the CPU (odd number generations) and the next year they upgrade the GPU with some other minor improvements (even number generations.

Why would you call Zen 4 desktop Ryzen 6000 when the mobile chips already launched with the last gen Zen 3 cores? They had that issue with Ryzen 2000/3000 laptop chips being a generation behind and it was bullshit. This is an elegant solution to that problem.

You forgot Ryzen 2000G which used the same cores as Ryzen 1000 and 3000G which used 2000 cores.
