Concept Art Fundamentals - How to Paint Landscape Studies

Your insight is really helpful, I’m gonna do it this way! I’ve been so frustrated as there’s so little info and barely clear instructions for bg studies, like everytime I want to make a bg for my characters it always looks empty and lifeless, so ig that should be my focus for the studies

Realizing I'm on a similar journey. I was an architecture student and still preferred characters over environments. That's how bad my mindset was so I never got to fully dive into it other than for class projects. Only recently did I actually start enjoying painting environments more. And using my architecture fundamentals has been super helpful too.

If you're curious why architecture? I was forced into it after the infamous line "character artists make no money, choose a stable career"...
