5 Things to Make Your Underpowered Honda More Fun to Drive
Показать описание
How do you make a slow car FUN to drive? In today's video, I explain 5 Things that made my underpowered 1999 Honda Civic Project more fun and enjoyable to drive!
The old saying is that it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. In the case of slow Honda's...that depends. With the right mods, it's possible to make 90's Honda's (or any car for that matter) more fun to drive regardless of the power. The transformation that much of my budget Honda Civic has had, is in the driving experience. A well rounded car is much more fun than a car that does one thing in my opinion. Anyone can install a turbo or swap an engine in a Honda, but few people will focus on the details that make driving it more fun!
Lowering a Honda Civic and fitting wider wheels and tires is nothing new, but doing it (right) is a rare sight. Functional size and weight is often overlooked and can make a world of difference. Installing wider wheels will increase traction and the overall contact patch. Lowering the car on coilovers will improve handling and lower the center of gravity. Installing an aftermarket steering wheel into any car will (most likely) FEEL nicer. Swapping an S2000 steering wheel into my civic along with a weighted shiftknob and poly bushings made a HUGE difference. Remember, everything you touch makes the experience.
Installing aftermarket seats will improve the fun by holding you in better. Less body roll and much more focused driving position. One of the more expensive mods, but can still be done on a budget. Hondas can swap many seats including Integra seats, RSX seats, EP3 seats, Prelude seats, etc. Lastly, the cheapest mod is a CLEAN interior. This doesn't cost much and you'll have way more fun in a clean car than a filthy car. Less items clanking around and will again, feel better.
Coming from a person with an exhaust AND an intake on their underpowered honda, these other 5 things have proven to make MY driving experience more fun. Not saying they are a bad idea, but I would do these other 5 things any day. This stuff is all based on my own opinion and if you have a different one, leave a comment below!
