How do I make two perpendicular curves coincide at a midpoint (piercing).
I need it for the fuselage of an airplane, I have several sections and several guide curves, but I can't get a match between the sections and the guides.

nice. This is more a controlled, elegant method. I usually just move the new added vert slightly then double click on it to get rid of the sharp edge

This is all wrong. You can insert with the Insert Point command.
What you did here, is splitted the curve into two curves and then you subdivided these two curves. And then you converted the split point into a joined point. This is cumbersome and a wrong explanation. Sorry, my friend.
