Can I say that you rush throught he squats and you are using momentum; also need to keep your chest up higher. You need to pause a bit when squating. It's more effective. The number of rep is not important if the posture is comprimised. Sorry!

47, as timed by staff in my local gym (it's the current challenge) *but* I'm 59 (male) and obese (98kg with an unsightly pot belly). So with practice and losing weight.... And these were right down onto my haunches, buttocks touching heels. Is that cheating? Is it actually harder to stop in mid-air? Comments welcomed as no-one else in the gym joined this particular challenge ☹️

Doing just-above-parallel squats is not using "full range of motion", obviously. You can do them parallel, but then don't call it full ROM. Just say you're doing them to parallel. Full ROM would obviously be ass-to-grass unless you have some serious mobility issues preventing you from squatting until your hammies touch your heels.

Also, there is no such thing as "toning your lower body". You either lose fat, or you don't. You can also change the amount of muscle you gain or lose during the process of losing or gaining fat, but you can't localize your fat loss. You either lose fat by exercising and eating right, or you don't. How often have you seen a ripped dude with an 8-pack but a bloated face and fat arms? It never happens. It's physically impossible.

I'm saying this, because toning mainly happens by losing fat. You can have pretty puny muscles and still have them appear "toned" if you have low body fat in that area of your body. So "toning" is pretty much a useless term as it doesn't add any value over the more straightforward concepts of losing fat and gaining muscle.

I am doing my squat challenge which is one minute = 60 squats in 60 days non stop with all kind of different squats...so far I did 70 regular squats in one minute without equipment and 60 deep or all kinds of squats with 20- 30 lb dumbbell in one minute. Check it out at my channel
