Mom Accused of Exposing 2-Year-Old to Amphetamines: 'Helpless Child'

When a 2-year-old Ohio child was rushed by a medical helicopter to a children’s hospital last week, the child’s mother, Brittany Colvin, was nowhere to be found. Police say she had returned to her apartment to destroy evidence. When officers arrived at her home, they found three other children, who were taken into protective custody. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber discusses the case with retired Ohio judge Fanon Rucker.

At least she took the kids to the hospital. She knew she would get in trouble for it and still did. We need to realize that if we don't have some compassion we influence others to not go to the hospital.

Glad she had the tiniest bit of sense to take the baby for medical care, this could easily be a different type of case. Don't gotta make things worse when you've already effed up big. Hope she gets help and learns a lesson. And that this is enough for that child to be watched more carefully from here on out.

If you want to be using drugs fine but don't try to be in both worlds. Little children are too special and precious to be mixed up in that world. Do what's right and give your children to a safe place if you choose to use drugs.
