CODE: "OVERTON" For the best deal on the internet, 25% OVER $100 bucks off
BUAHAHA LOOK AT ALL THESE KIDS CRY!
Prepare for more tears.

1.) "Parallax is set to 250"... No... Parallax is set to that bush.. The numbers on the turret, are wrong. It's that far off. And cameras care not about parallax anyway... Cry.
2.) "MIRAGE FROM THE SOLAR PANEL" Hey, little boys... it's 51 degrees out... Zero mirage from the 1/4 inch of panel infront of the optic... And this might blow your little retardo minds... But You can see mirage in scopes... You can see it clearer, in the arken. Clearly, the Arken is getting more mirage... like, it's right there. And none of this has anything to do with clarity, dynamic range, color accuracy, contrast...
3.) MUH LOW LIGHT.... K, linked video.. Is that why the Arken is literally better still?
4.) I literally live streamed this test, this data point, this day. The live chat was crying harder, and they thought of more, than you did. INCLUDING, the scopes swapping place.
Cry.

As a dude who used to photograph to pay his wage - never compare glass in good conditions. The difference between high end and low end usually comes down to its ability to NOT have amazing amounts of chromatic aberration, or ghosting, or contrast loss, when shooting at wonky angles to the sun. Or the ability to pick up more light for a crisper image in low light / twilight.

All that being said - there’s a reason I shot with a nifty fifty over a 50/f1.2 and also have some cheap scopes, including an Arken - good enough is good enough. Edit: fixing spellcheck

NF is bombproof, American made, and likely has superior low light abilities (which is where the money can really show up). But how many of us really need that level of glass?

I’m going to bitch and moan in the comments because this mean internet mountain man isn’t 100% aligned with every thought I’ve ever had

Parallax set at 250yds and the target is at 500yds. Damn, that's crazy. Also, I own Arken, Nightforce, Leupold, Trijicon, etc. There's a difference. I use them for different task.

One on a tripod, one with the objective bell resting on an object with heat reflection 👍

I have 13 Arkens now! I realized the same thing you did when I was having issues hitting steel with my 6.5 cm RPR with a vortex viper pst& then swapped out optics with a Arken sh4 4x16x50 & was drilling steel all afternoon! A $400 4×16 blew away a $1600 vortex 6x25 @ 1000yds! Simply amazing! My newest favorite is LH 4x16x44, 6x24x50! Lightweight, just set & forget! Best optics on the market!!! Great work!!! CAPT J

Ive been saying for years now, that the very best budget level sub $700 scopes optical performance and quality is practically indistinguishable from the standard top tier optics in the $1, 000 to $3, 000 range.
You have to have superb vision and know A lot about optics to even find the differences.
Ive become a big fan of Primary Arms optics and own a bunch of their budget silver class SLX and premium platinum class PLX optics.
As far as optical quality and performance goes, Imo there's only about a 3% to 5% difference between the two classes (as well as other brands in those price ranges) which is not a detraction of the platinum class optics as much as praise of the silver class optics.
Ive been pleasantly surprised by all of the PA optics myself and my group of shooting buddies owns.
Between about 5 of us we own perhaps 2 dozen PA LPVOs, scopes and red dot/reflex sights every one of them great.
I would imagine the same is true of Arken and other optics.
They're all made in one of only 2 or 3 factories in their respective countries of manufacture after all.
The modern optics industry is producing excellent products at minimal cost.
You don't have to spend a fortune to get excellent performance any more.
The very best of the best is still out there for those that can afford it but for us working stiffs, we can get all we need without breaking the bank.

Yep. Clarity is one thing but mechanical repeatability and reliability is another game. Put them both through a torture test and see which one holds up to repeated impact and after winding full adjustment up / down / left and right a few hundred times.

I agree that many other scopes have clarity as good or better than a NF at lower price but haven't seen many consistently hold up mechanically.

Arken EP-5 are assembled in China but the critical interior glass optical components are Japanese.

Price + Quality

I have been a dealer for years because of Cyclops' reviews on YouTube. Because I thought they would sell like hot cakes. I love Arken scopes. Most people buy through the internet, which is great for them. I have only sold a few, but I still love the scopes. Fantastic value for the money.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but there is more to a scope than glass quality and clarity

How about a true side-by-side comparison, actually side by side on two tripods, and don't put one of them on top of a hot solar panel emitting heat wave refraction right in front of the lens, LOL!

Like most US sports optics brands, Nightforce does not manufacture its glass. Instead, the lenses are procured from Japan where Nightforce Optics has partnered with a Japanese glass manufacturer for all riflescope models.

I appreciate you actually showing the view through both.

For the average person the cheaper option is just fine but if you live or work in a harsh environment or depend on the scope you may want the more durable option. Usually that comes at a premium.

I agree with you 100% but it’s hard to compare a cheap scope to one of if not the most rugged scopes and a whole lot more money so stick to your price but spend all you can afford because the scope is probably the most important element in shooting or hunting🙌

The quality also goes into nitrogen or argon filled and how the optics will look bringing back inside from the freezing cold or taking it outside in the cold. Condensation inside will ruin the optics.

I snagged a Razor II 3-18 with the intent to use on a 600yrd range. Because it was discontinued I got a good deal. Cons, only 72mm lense so you have to consider distances & if you need a canted mount, & it weighs 2lbs, heavy boy. I like it, but I wouldn't pay 2k. Arkin works well, especially since many don't shoot that far, nor do they dog it out.
