Arken Optics EP5 Year in Review Torture Test.

Used and abused this EP5 for one year. See how it held up.

This EP5 optic has had thousands of rounds fired from .22 long rifle up through magnum rifles. It has sustained substantial impacts repeatedly as well as been neglected and subjected to both extreme heat, cold, water, ice and mud/sand/loam.

Thats really impressive. I figured something had to be broken. I've got an EP5, I don't plan on intentionally damaging it. Its good to know it will take some abuse.

Definitely giving this one a hard consideration. I’d probably never go out past 500yrds with it and from what I’ve seen on the YouTube, it would work just fine for that and then some. I don’t beat my stuff around but good to know it could handle it if a shtf type world ever happened.

Thank you for this GREAT review! I don't hunt anymore (but I could), I'm more of a target shooter on my 2 private ranges .
Just to quantify my experience, I own 61 scopes and have shot through them all. Some serious junk to a Sightron Slll and a high end Leupold on our Barrett M107A1 50 BMG.
These Arken scopes are NO joke. I have both an EP5 and a SH4. I have another EP5 on the way just because I'm SO impressed.
Just today, I took delivery of a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25X56, 34mm tube,
The EP5 is MUCH better in all respects. The SE will be going into my spare tote....
Pretty amazing and I can't wait to see what's on the horizon. Yes, it's Chinese, but they can build ANYTHING, if you're willing to put up the $.

I’ve owned an Arken for years . Been an excellent scope. I don’t see any other scopes go through ridiculous types of test.

I seriously love my EP5. Have not put it through your extreme tests, only dropped it from around 80' and it did not fail. Seriously great experience with this scope. I thought the SH4's were great but the glass on this 5 is really great.

I have three sh4 gen 2s one still in the box I love them want to get a 4x16 I would take an Arken over any other they work very well for me on all my rifles not disappointed at all

My SH4 had the zero stop issue you had out of the box. Very simple fix and a yr later I've had no issues. For the price arken is awesome

I've got a SH4 GEN2 4-16 on my 7mm mag. I'm somewhere around 300 rounds through it and I can say it holds zero and tracks like the day I installed it.

Good thorough review.The set screw was nothing compared too what the scope went thru. Now, let's see if a Schmidt and Bender can pass ! 🤣👏👍

I am considering the new EPL4 6-24x50. This review is very encouraging in that if the new scope performs like the EP5, then I will be happy. What is your opinion? Do you think it's worth the money at $440?

I bought a EP5 AND IT only lasted 120ish rounds of 300prc before it started to self-destinate. Not sure what the scope is rated for but its not rated for a 300prc without a brake and up IMHO. Still waiting to see what arken has to say or what they are going to do about the scope i sent in for warranty. Their scope rings wouldnt even hold the scope with their recomended torque setting of 18inch/lbs l, the scope was moving in the rings drastically, had to go up to 24inch/lbs and still not 100% sure if that was enough. Its a great scope for small caliber rifles. Really disappointed that it didnt handle better. When i get it back im going to throw it on my DD DELTA 5 IN 6.5 CREEDMOOR and see how it will do on that rifle.
