There is no ego, and you really can't compare the two.
As Scholes said, Gerrard was individual, which made him stand out.
Scholes couldn't have done what Gerrard did at Liverpool because he wasn't a fan. Gerrard was passionate about Liverpool and had the drive purely for Liverpool.
Personally, I think Gerrard was a better attacking midfielder, and Scholes was a better central midfielder.
It's the same with Lampard, very different from either Scholes or Gerrard, yet still great.
My personal bias will always say Scholes, but the truth is, all 3 are great, and they don't need to be ranked.

Wouldn't have any other player than Scholes at United. He dictated how United played, he made the team tick. He decided when to increase the tempo and when to slow it down. And to do it over and over again with the consistency, unbelievable.

People unfortuantely live in moments and pass comments but looks at the results down the road, they speak for itself.

Scholes made a good point actually, he couldnt do what Gerard did at Liverpool, for sure he couldn't. But that doesnt mean Gerard is the better player they are different for sure which is difficult to scale
