EDIT: In the light of the day after this video was uploaded along with other similar complaints about the Lag Bots situation, the staff behind Team Fortress 2 has finally come to their senses and fixed an exploit! Perhaps there is hope for Team Fortress 2 after all. But can we expect it to happen?
Original Description: It has been too long since Valve even done anything to keep one of their titles like Team Fortress 2 to be active. Now under the maintenance of the community team, it feels like Valve just stopped working on the updates and leaving Team Fortress 2 to be in Update Limbo.
Many people have been asking whatever happened to the Heavy Update and when will it come? Well, sad as it seems that it may never come into fruition since Valve just simply stopped working on the updates. Personally, I was not sure what is the reason behind all this and why. Perhaps it was layoffs, less motivational situations, or something controversial.
Prior to sometime in late March or early April, there are bots that appeared out of the blue in casual servers where they are designed to lag and crash the servers, making the game mostly unplayable. Not only they cause a lot of problems, but they also can cheat their way to improvements by racking up kills and achievements. What is even worse server owners could not get rid of the bots so easily as they can force quit the owners beforehand. Granted that the competitive servers are not affected by the invasion of the lag bots. But even so, casual servers are now suffering a psuedo Mann vs. Machine scenario.
To be honest with you all, I am not sure what kind of fate will happen to Team Fortress 2. And will the lag bots and such will be immediately put down? Who started all of this and why? To collect cosmetics and weapons for their personal gain? Will Valve get the chance to update the game? Nobody knows for sure, but this really concerns many TF2 Players a lot more. Any more problems happening to the game are more likely to make the game unplayable...
Valve, please do something to save your game.
