I want to hug him. This quote hits so close to home (except for the part where he says he’s a monster). I had to deal with many lying monsters, even now I have to. I love him so much to the point where I call him my comfort character. I don’t know why I feel this way about him 🥺😞

Omfg okay I get it now, so I did the comparison in my head as I recited those last few words. “If I were to encounter such a monster(light) I’d probably be eaten by it(killed) because I am that monster” so what L means is that the same ‘bad’ behaviors in him are in everyone, including light (but light doesn’t see this). Light was passing judgement on everyone even though the ‘monster’ is in him as well. For example, he was killing murderers, which made him, a murderer! And so L was killed by light because L was trying to stop him from his goal which in light’s mind, it was kind of like saving those criminals and siding with them when in reality he just didn’t want people to continue getting murdered even for petty crimes. It kind of goes with the idea that ‘I am you and you are me’. If you encountered your exact self on the street, but with a different face, you’ll probably pass judgment onto them about their behavior or actions, when in reality, that’s you. Now apply it to everyone else you see. You see, we are all not much different from each other, some of us just hide our darker sides better or turn it into something else, but at its core, we’re all the same. So tread lightly on passing judgment onto others and reflect on yourself.
