...I'm pleasantly surprised to see that determinants are being applied, in this case for calculating the area of a triangle: A=0.5(base)(hight). I just need to figure out why this works, because I don't like to just learn methods that I don't immediately understand! But I have to admit it looks surprisingly elegant. I've always found determinants a little intimidating and inscrutable and still do! In this case, for example, I would use the Distance Formula a number of times. But thank you very much for this instructive presentation, Math Sorcerer! Jan-W
