Think this is better done in an empty tube (air). A metal ball like that will reach terminal velocity almost instantly.

WON'T THE FRICTION AMOUNT OF THE OIL MOVING PAST THE BALL BARRING PLAY A ROLE? LIKE WHAT IF YOU USED A 3" WIDE TUBE? THE VISCOSITY OF THE OIL WOULD DECREASE ALSO RIGHT?

If we change the diameter of the ball, will there be a change in the terminal velocity of the ball? Assuming the same test tube and same amount of liquid is used.

Does anyone know where I can get the long cylindrical tube similar to the one used in this experiment?

The only problem with this experiment is that the terminal velocityis reached too soon, so we don't actually get the chace to see the ball accelerating through the liquid.
