Single home surrounded by burned-out destruction somehow survives Maui wildfires

A single home on a block bordering the ocean in West Maui miraculously survived the wildfires that destroyed the resort city of Lahaina.

The two-story house appears unharmed with white walls and a red roof, standing in stark contrast with the nightmarish sight of the ashes and charred foundations that remain of the neighboring homes.

Even some of the foliage around the surviving home appears to have made it through the blaze, much to the bewilderment of those on social media who dubbed it “The Red House That Survived Hawaii Wild Fires.”

How did metal melt but trees are charred? Why was water turned off? Why were so many officials not even there when this started? Why did police block people from leaving? Maui citizens need to demand answers NOW!

Its amazing how this fire was treated. No sirens were sounded, roads were blocked, no appropriate communication or evacuation warnings ( maybe one), no water, no electricity. I can understand the no electricity, but the water was a must. Also no flyovers with a helicopter and water to help diminish the flames. Now there's another brush fire that had started, and they sound the sirens, leave the water on, warn the people, and a helicopter is flying over with water to help diminish the flames. What they did on the second fire allows us to believe they had the capability of controlling the first fire. You have to ask yourself, why didn't they?

The state has been looking for a way to take that prime real estate for decades.

It didn’t just survive; there is no smoke damage.

Doesn't take a blind man to see this was not a natural fire. 😢

It's not just this mansion, there is a whole stretch where they are untouched while 20 ft away the whole island is scorched earth.

We need the names of the owners and who’s on the deed of every house that mysteriously survived while all the other ones around it burned to ashes.

Glass melts at 3000 degrees, forest fires reach 2000. There were cars that were entirely melted all around this home. Very odd.

Look at that paint work. Not a single shred of evidence of a fire hot enough to melt cars

We need a follow up, on if these survivors are getting evicted out of their house or not.. locals are saying yes

They distracted you with the red roof but it’s the blue car in the driveway 🤯

Its like Lahaina Shores resort by Hyatt. The whole resort is untouched and everything around it is charred. Physics tell us this is IMPOSSIBLE. ITS not a miracle, ITS IMPOSSIBLE and proof this was INTENTIONAL. Every highend celebrity home is STILL STANDING.

Forget sending supplies through private persons or organizations, FEMA/RC are not authorizing outside donations. Why was the water turned off?

I'm from the Caribbean, and it always amazes me how you guys build in wood. Most homes where I am are brick. So while roofs are prone to blow off in hurricanes, the main structures are usually left standing. And steel framed roofs are on the rise instead of wood beams. That being said, it is still amazing that there aren't any visible scorch marks on the paint.

The fire just stops at the yard the house didn't even get touched, the cement walls are irrelevant

Home owners said it's because of their thick concrete walls. How about the paint that covered the walls? Why didn't the paine burn, the trees . The wooden deck? Is that wood actually concrete . If there's fire there's soot on everything not just not on thick concrete walls what you think we're idiots

1st question: who owns the home as to why the Government laser left it alone and even if the house did burn, the blue car would have been untouched anyways.

ohh the wood deck was saved by the thick concrete wall, I see.

Wow, no soot or anything. Who owns it?

How can the owner say they can tribute the house, not burning down to its strong concrete walls when even the grass around the house has not even burned ‘now somebody explain that.
