Thank you Avery much, I was having this problem today. Also this was only my second try at using my instant pot, so when it was losing the pressure and steam escaping I did try to makes sure it was closed tight nut I did not push downward on the lid. Your clear explanations is helpful.

I didnt see you repair, clean or replace the rubber gasket around the inside of the lid. Is it possible that gasket stretches out and doesnt let the lid seal.

The steam continuously leaks from the valve when it comes to pressure. It will not stop unless I I turn it off. Pushing on the valve just let’s out more steam. It only does this on high pressure mode. Do u know what the problem is?
