I remember watching Excalibur at the movie theatres in 1981, still my favorite movie today and it did influence enormously in my life. No better theme to adorn this excellent movie than O Fortuna-Carmina Burana, the first time I heard this symphony from Carl Orff was when I first watch this movie :)

Best movie about King Arthur ever made, in my opinion! The music is wonderful, too and really fits the story. Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, was based on a fourteenth century book of poetry found in a German monastery, so it goes back to that era. In the Middle Ages, the Wheel of Fortune was a major idea, so this piece is named O Fortuna. Other parts of the score include music from Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, a legend similar to Lancelot and Guinever, that predates it. All in all, one of the most artistic movies in existence.
