I first heard this in the movie “Excalibur“. Along with Wagner made me a lifelong listener. The thumbnail was correct. This was one of the best versions I’ve heard.

If I ever find myself on the battlefield mortally wounded let this be the last thing that I hear.

I'll never understand how people can perform this piece of music without getting goosebumps... I can't hear it without

There are only two kinds of conductors: Monopoly Guy, and the guy with magnificent hair who real loves his job.

0:25 That quick change to quiet then crescendoing into silence I feel is the most unique part of this version. It definitely matches the pieces energy.

Notice how proud the conductor is. Really enjoying the performance of the orchestra.

I'm conductor. I just can't breath while I'm watching this video. Just top 👏🏿

I directed the lighting on the stage and the space around the open air theater in the Olympic Park at the 1972 Munich Olympics when the Carmina Burana was being performed in the presence of Carl Orff. It was one of the most memorable events in my young life and the sound of the choral harmonies still echo with me. The sound and the harminies travelled for miles and the spirit of the singers flew with the sound over the town and the Olympic Hill behind us.
But the biggest heart break came just right after the end of the performance when the attack on the Jewish athletes started and the Olympic Games descended into terror and sadness.

You surely must feel so many chills as a conductor leading this "army". epic

Another middle of the night find for me. I was privileged to be part of massed choirs of adults and schoolchildren who sang this in the Hertfordshire Schools Gala in 2014. The adult choirs were un-auditioned community choirs and we were led by the amazing Rufus Frowde. What an experience! I'm shivering as I write this..

O Fortuna
Velut luna
Statu variabilis
Semper crescis
Aut decrescis
Vita detestabilis
Nunc obdurat
Et tunc curat
Ludo mentis aciem,
Egestatem,
Potestatem
Dissolvit ut glaciem.
Sors immanis
Et inanis,
Rota tu volubilis
Status malus
Vana salus
Semper dissolubilis
Obumbrata
Et velata
Michi quoque niteris
Nunc per ludum
Dorsum nudum
Fero tui sceleris.
Sors salutis
Et virtutis
Michi nunc contraria,
Est affectus
Et defectus
Semper in angaria.
Hac in hora
Sine mora
Corde pulsum tangite
Quod per sortem
Sternit fortem
Mecum omnes plangite

This was the first piece (well, the whole song cycle...) i sang with the Dalhousie University choir in 1974: a completely unforgettable experience and one i will cherish forever. One of the best choral masterpieces of the 20th century!!

You have to love the conductor. This maestro is doing such a fabulous job. He is not just conducting, he is feeling the music. He actually IS the music. He's radiating a joy that choir and orchestra can do nothing less than mirror.
