Could a WWII Soviet I-16 stand a chance against an F-16 still in use today?!
That's what I try to find in this guns only dogfight in DCS!

One thing I dont understand is how what would the advantage of an F-16 be compared to a prop like this if it did not have missilse? Because sure it is much faster and can get away easily but it cannot attack before the prop is able to turn in the right direction. So, no matter where and how fast the F-16 is it would at best be able to take a head on which isnt great. At least not unless the Prop pilot makes any grave mistakes that is.

Something people don't consider is that these planes are a threat to modern jets. Once a jet is out of missiles and forced into a dog fight the ww2 fighters have a distinct advantage.

Some minore upgrades could easily make them viable. Those beings a stealth paint and flars.
Now that said while they are a viable threat they are not an effective one. They would have to rely on numbers to win. Which is fine since they are cheaper and easier to build.

I feel like the f-16 should've used their speed even more. If they just fly away and turn around out of range of the I-16, its an easy missile shot which is no match for the old I-16. Forcing yourself into an actual dogfight with a I-16 that turns much faster than your plane is just a bad idea.
