introducing the anti-anti-virus. actually those are called retroviruses but this isn't actually one of those, it just pretends to be one.

"fridrik", BTW, is referring to Friðrik Skúlason, the Icelandic founder of Frisk and developer of F-Prot. Frisk was bought a couple years ago by Commtouch (now Cyren); Skúlason and his team continue to develop F-Prot under them.

So i found out that the frisk software that virus was refering is actually an Icelandic company called FRISK Software International and the fridrik is actually Fridrik Skulason who is founder of the FRISK Software International.

The Nucleii infects files, when using the dir <filename (e.g. graphics.com)> command or infects certain files after being ran.
Note: When you did 'dir nuclei.com', it said 123, 834, 368 bytes free and after running it and you typed in 'dir graphics.com' it said 123, 830, 272 bytes free.

I dont miss the graak graaak  buzz buzz of the floppy drives those were annoying (until I disabled booting from that first in BIOS.) I do however miss the Dial Up modem sounds. If I could figure out a way to make an event in Windows when the "Network is connected" To play the 56k MoDem handshake it would awesome. But I would play with those viruses  in a VM to see what they did. LOL

People need to learn that just because a product is free means that it sucks, and that just because you can pay for it doesn't mean it's better. There are a bunch of free programs out there than the crap that costs money.

Do as the virus demonstrated above says and "Don't buy products that harass [the] user". I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials for four years, and it is a very user friendly program that displays practically no messages at all. It doesn't slow down my computer, although some may beg to differ. There are other programs that anyone can use though.

Note that on Windows 8, Windows Defender is EXACTLY the same thing as Microsoft Security Essentials.

(FYI the pro version of Malwarebytes' isn't an antivirus program, but if you're using it, you probably know that.)

If it infected something to do with startup, that would explain why it didn't increase the file size of graphics.

The bad grammar in this virus actually did make a slight difference. the "your" in the first paragraph threw me off by making me thing that it was talking about something that someone had, and I had to read it twice to get it. If this doesn't prove that grammar IS important, then I don't know what will.
