Awesome presentation - excited to see the new recommendations from GiveWell!

Very good talk but as someone who has been - and occasionally still is - suicidal, I would much rather see investments in raising the quality of life of suicidal people, rather than money spent making it harder for people to kill themselves.

I believe it is very much possible for someone's life to have negative value (at least to themselves). I'm from a rich country (the Netherlands) and I hardly find my life worth living. I'd imagine this would be even more the case in poorer countries where quality of life is even lower. I would not thank you if you'd have been the one to prevent one of my suicide attempts, but I would thank you if you would have gotten my quality of life to a point where I didn't want to kill myself anymore.
