This might sound a bit conservative, but a proper ancient Roman city builder game should have immigration glitch, iron mines randomly caving in, wolves that can be contained by stone arches designed for transporting water, market ladies who go on adventures to the other side of the map for one piece of pottery, the social aspects of second type of food and the player should have the capability to PLAZA-UP EVERYTHING! Just a few tips for the developers. Looks promising btw.

The 'two armies meet in a square map and autobattle it out after setting formations' reminds me of very old game Legion Gold. Who knows, it might be turn out well, I'm actually interested.

There's a fair amount of artistic license taken here and I'm pretty cool with it. I honestly like what I see and I'll be keeping an eye open for this.

I recall Zeus had gods wandering around, affecting production and mood, etc.

Am I the only one who saw the woman legionary artwork? How do we feel about that?

With how cartoony the gods look, I expect a bit more of a light-hearted game, but who knows.

Roman city builder is my thing aswell. certainly hope its more than that military base game. Need some legion roleplaying features or leveling up, city builder aspect is promising but hope it has good single city state ai competing for land, trade and resources and maybe some diplomacy.

I wonder how dense you can make the cities. As I guess the bits of gameplay have the buildings spread out to show the buildings off more then going for a full urban environment.

It gives me a sort of Ikariam artstyle and I did love that game once long time ago, I'm interested in what will become of it and hope to see you cover it upon release and fingers crossed it doesn't get delayed unnecessarily

Looks like every other Rome builder to me. Wait, this one has asparagus. YESSSS! I've been waiting forever to trade asparagus. A must buy!

In the impressions city builders the player mainly 'build' to manage the city, in this I can imagine there are more management to do after buildings are placed.

A little too cartoony for my liking but could overlook that if the gameplay is serious enough

It reminds of a Facebook game "God City" where Greek gods walk around a city a player built

WOW.. this is the game I have always wanted .. The combination of "Zeus - Master Olympus" + "Caeser - III" + " Anno 1800" !!
WOW ... Man love this !! BTW Thanks for covering this Game Zakh !! As always keep up the amazing unique work on youtube !!
REQUEST for DEVS: "Please make it multiplayer.. god damn.. it would just break steam and internet !!"

the auto battler stuff kinda puts me off ngl, i was hoping for a more simplified version of total war

id love a game where you start as a citizen that is conscripted into the Roman army at the lowest rank with the goal of becoming Caesar climbing through military ranks and into governing titles through careful use of military prowess, diplomacy, espionage, subterfuge, and of course developing and conquering more land for the glory of Rome all while pleasing the sitting Caesar lest you be fed to the lions at any point along your journey.

I don't know if anyone here is old enough to remember, but the combat looks like "Centurion: Defender of Rome", a MS-DOS game from 1990.
I'm guessing the devs are old enough :D
