can i listen to led zeppelin? i play guitar and their songs cover literally everything in terms of guitar mastery. i like to express myself through guitar and would like to glorify God in that way too. only asking because the guitarist in the band was involved in some dark things and a few of their lyrics speak of mystical characters like thor etc. i personally do not feel conviction but i am open to ALL opinions

Scripture doesn’t teach a sacred/secular dichotomy. What it does teach is to set your mind on whatever is true, good, noble, etc.

The fact is there’s a lot of “Christian” music that is all pap and pablum, shallow and not worthy of attention; similarly, there’s a lot of “secular” music that is skillful, beautiful, true, and worthy of attention.

The idea that music is only worthwhile if it has a gospel message is simply childish. God created all things, and all things are meant to be enjoyed.
Tomatoes aren’t Christian or secular. Books aren’t Christian or secular. Music isn’t Christian or secular. Tomatoes can be good or rotten, books can be edifying or filled with nonsense and lies. Music can be beautiful and worthy of admiration even if the gospel isn’t proclaimed.
