When the insurance company accepted and cashed the checks, they were liable to cover the vehicle in question. At least that's the way it works in America.

It is hilarious that the insurance company has no issue cashing the payment checks but only informs the client that they are NOT covered when they have a claim.

I can understand he made a mistake about bluring out the plate but obviously the insurance should have sent him a message of some sort to inform him he made a mistake. Then to top that off they accept payment on the car without the plates info then basically told him "sorry but we were under the impression you were giving us the money for charity thanks for the money and you car isn't insured" that's a lawsuit waiting to happen and I really REALLY hope he will get back his money and got a better car as payment.

Cool seeing Linux running Xfce and htop on a Tesla. Xfce is a graphical desktop environment that doesn't need a lot of resources, and Linux supports quite a few platforms. Can't actually tell if it is running on the car's computer, though.

Actually if you accelerate quickly to the speed limit you can still break the law of exhibition of speed.
This law is very vague and can be used for many different offenses like squilling tires or quickly accelerating to speed.
