After a duel with Jango Fett on Kamino, Obi-Wan Kenobi threw a homing beacon on the departing Slave I's hull. He tracked the ship to the planet Geonosis. After Boba Fett saw they were being tracked, Jango flew the Slave I into the asteroid field around the planet.

the seismic charges are presented perfectly, the way all the sound suddenly comes to a halt, before an astounding BANG! it's actually incredible

Imagine seeing this scene for the first time in the movie theater

This scene has some of the most amazing sound design I've ever heard in a movie scene. The fact that the scene has almost no music is so atmospheric. And when it is, it some of the best music in the franchise.

Honestly, Jango's piloting skills are impressive when you think about what it takes to maneuver your ship through an asteroid field at speed while simultaneously visually tracking a target taking evasive action _and_ keeping your cannons trained on said target independent from your angle of attack.

20 years later and the scene/sound of the seismic charges is STILL one of the most fucking cool scenes/sounds in any movie ever made, in my opinion.

As much as I love the seismic charge sound, I'm more of a fan of the blaster barrage. It's just as epic.

The seismic charges were so damn good that I used them for a gravity hammer sound effect for a sloppy little video.

The prequels are damned underrated.

I would've loved to see this in theater with these insane sounds. Probably would've shit myself. Hands down some of the best audio i have ever heard. The charges, engines, guns... Perfection

George Lucas makes some serious designs better than disney, George Lucas deserves a academy award

I cannot begin to tell you how awesome this scene was in theaters. I only wish I was older than 10 at the time to remember it better. Jango Fett is and has been my favorite character in all of Star Wars and it only took two extremely diverse fight scenes with Obi-Wan to help me make that determination.

I remember seeing this on opening day for the first time. There was a bad thunderstorm going on during the whole movie and lightning had cut the power during the previews. I thought that it was happening again during the seismic charge scene; that the storm had somehow messed up the speakers. But of course it was supposed to sound that way, and to this day is one of my favorite sound effects.

"Blast, this is why I hate flying" said Obi Wan, mildly annoyed.

No space battles have toppled this and the opening battle of Revenge of the Sith. Unbelievably well directed and love how much we’re following the movements of the combatant. Those shots tracking on the Slave 1, the POV of those lasers blasting us, total sensory overload in the best way.

The Slave is probably my favorite ship. The sounds, the unique design, its just awesome

I just love the ship sounds from 1:10 - 1:48. Gives me chills

It’s crazy that this is from 2002. Looks visually better than most things today, and arguably more sound design than many movies today.

as a kid I always thought it was awesome that even though Obi-Wan hates flying he still pulls off some stunning moves here. also I used to have his starfighter (Lego) :)
