The X-Files is one of the most beloved sci-fi series' ever produced. Does it really need a reboot? Well, Disney sure thinks it does. Ryan Coogler, the director of both Black Panther films, will be producing a X-Files reboot in the coming future. What are your thoughts on this news? Let me know, down in the comments. Thanks for watching.

Are you kidding me!!!??? Another goddamn reboot!!!??? Can these people create anything original? Ever. I know what's gonna happen. It's gonna suck just like all the garbage reboots that came before.

Rewatch the original instead of wasting your time on a reboot. There are lots of IPs out there that were only given 1 series, try making them a success, instead of turning a success into a failure!

The are trying to destroy our most popular TV series like they destroy Doctor Who

As someone who was a fan of the X-files from the start back in 93, following it from it Friday night time slot to its Sunday night mainstay time slot I can only pray that the show doesn't fall prey to the current state of "storytelling" being pedaled by Hollywood these days but unlike many i believe the show should not be rebooted but continued, basically letting the show proceed with a new team heading the X-files letting Duchovny and Anderson's, Mulder and Scully be the past on which the show could built upon much like the Law and Order franchise did successfully, and while yes Mulder and Scully were key to the series success this was in large part due to the actors portrayal but unfortunately the need to hold on to Mulder and Scully was part of the reason why the show failed to move on to a new chapter the two times it seemed to be doing so, whenever new agents were introduced though, they were forced to stand in the shadow of Mulder and Scully and not given a chance to take the reins whether it was Doggett and Reyes or Miller and Einstein. Would a reboot work if done right obviously yes it would but is it necessary, I would argue not really.

Without Mulder and Sculley and Chris Carter it will not work. And I won't be watching it.

I know some would still whine about this but even a sequel series with mulder and scully in smaller roles as mentors to new characters would be better than straight up rebooting

I feel like all these reboots kind of ruin the originals. If the reboots suck (which they usually do) and some time later you tell someone that you like [show}, people are like "how did you like that garbage!?" because they only know the reboot and think that's the original.

Offer as much fan service as possible Same continuity, pass the Torch. Don't make it too diverse. Fix the cliff hanger from the last season. Maybe it'll work.

A detective agency. That also looks at 'odd' things.
That's Charles L Grants
Black Oak series. Could base it on that. 😊😊😊😊

Enjoyed your video, largely good points, but bringing up Star Trek by comparison somewhat weakens your argument of 'can't do X Files without Mulder and Scully'. You know who thought you couldn't and shouldn't ever do Star Trek without Kirk and Spock? Every Star Trek fan ever until a new show proved them wrong.

They will need 2 ingredients to make this work: (1) Chris Carter, (2) Vancouver Rain.

Here's a thought... set the show in the X-Files universe, but don't make it about Mulder and Scully. Let's say a group of YouTubers start seeing strange things going on, and they decide to start looking into these X file type cases. A whole new cast, nobody has to get race or gender changed (Fox Mulder won't be a half-black, half-Filipino bisexual dwarf amputee woman with scoliosis, just to check as many boxes as possible). The YouTubers get fed information from somebody mysterious, and they investigate strange phenomenon and occurrences - sometimes at the same time Mulder and Scully are on the case. The show can have cameos from the original cast, but not be dependent on them. Strange stuff can happen, somebody in the shadows is pulling their strings, mysteries get solved (or more likely more questions get unanswered), and the studio doesn't have to automatically put people off by rebooting a show that most people would not want to see rebooted.

This idea was actually a plot to a TV show called "Hollyweird" that was going to come out some time ago, but the network kept screwing with it until the creator, Shaun Cassidy (yes, the actual '70s teen bubblegum pop singer) quit the show and it fell apart. They could reuse the generic idea and set it within the X-Files universe and it could work without paving over the original show with a weak, woke, pale imitation.

Hopefully not like when they re-booted 'MacGyver' and decided to change it up by making him a narcissistic, arrogant, cynical a**hole who belittles the boy scouts. There's an attractive central character for you.

it's prob. gonna be as successful as all those Pretty Little Liars reboots, remember those no! yup, that the point. Also, how long did the recent Twilight Zone reboot lasted?.

Okay, I feel like a broken record because I have to explain this a million times:

*Intellectual properties.*

Disney bought the rights to it. It doesn't necessarily mean they keep it forever and ever. To keep it in their vault, they have to *do* something with it. Otherwise, the license for that specific property is held to the highest bidder.

Also, companies nowadays don't want to gamble on something new and original if they can avoid it (nevermind that, once upon a time, said Intellectual property was once created new and original). Companies will most likely gamble on something that has a built-in fanbase so they can go to their investors and say property X, Y, and Z turned out profit for years A, B, and C. This is a main reason why we have reboots, prequels, sequels, remakes,

The faster you understand all of that, the faster you can stop asking these questions.

I don't care much about a movie about Elon Musk and tweets that are secretly cognito hazards.

Please god NO NO NO NO -- leave it alone. We don't want "the woke files" - Chris Carter is ok with having his legacy ruined???
