In Algeria, LGBT+ individuals are often persecuted and jailed. Some have even been murdered. The majority of Algeria's population identifies as Sunni Muslim, which is very anti-lgbtq+ If this adds up as her being trans, why would she be allowed to compete in the olympics or even PERMITTED to represent her country??

By everyones logic, she would have been welcomed back in her country very much likely in handcuffs instead of cheers and celebration.

It's disheartening to see a woman who has many features that I've seen on many women in Algeria be treated like she's a man or was born a man.
It sounds especially foolish to me because nobody in Algeria could get surgery done and keep living there, let alone be an athlete.

The commenters insisting she is a man and looks like one got me questioning reality because looking at their comments you'd think they know her or have been to Algeria.

It's really funny how many english comments call her a man but I haven't seen a single arabic comment saying so. Perhaps they simply know better both about Algeria's politics and how arabamazigh women can look.
