thank you so much for this, no other tutorial has helped as much as this.

Literally the quote “Since you’ve already jumped popping your tail against the ground isn’t actually how you get your body to come off the ground. Just the skateboard. You’ll already be suspended when you pop the tail.” unlocked some shit in my brain a week or so ago and I can ollie now. Sub’d and sending any struggling skaters I come across your way. Thanks for the lessons dude!

It wasn’t until this video that I realised the pop is all in the ankle not my entire leg. I can now get the board way higher🤙

kind of crazy that this is not the most popular ollie tutorial

3:56 is the part that helped me so much. When I poped the board I always thought I had to touch the ground with my tail and that’s what sends me up, but now I know what to actually do. Many tutorials don’t say anything about this. Thanks bro 🙏

Really was the best ollie tutorial I’ve ever seen. No one else could show me what they meant by saying jump first and then pop. Thanks a lot and will try this tomorrow!

"knee to chest or else board won't come off because the front foot is on the way" - this is my current wall, thanks for properly putting them to words. 🙌

I used to skateboard back in the 70's, way before ollies and flip tricks were invented. I'm 61 now and I have always wanted to learn an ollie. I've not skateboarded in 40 years but this video has inspired me to give it a go. I'll let you know how I get on...

I commented a few days ago that I’d try it, and I did. You literally added 6+ inches to my ollie with the detailed description of weight distribution and leg movement. Can’t thank u enough and keep up the great content bro

I have never heard the ollie explained in this way. I recently viewed a slow-mo on a trick tip and something clicked as I observed how the skateboard just kinda hung vertically in the air while the rider's front foot slid vertically up the tape gaining a new foot position before the board leveled out. immediately I started scouring more ollie vids to observe this again and your video has confirmed it with a great explanation. I've been struggling to get my Ollies normal as they just go up then slam down before leveling out. but I think it's because I've been mentally telling myself to roll my ankle and slide it up the grip tape at a more 45 degree angle. most tutorials heavily emphasize training this sliding motion of the front foot while stationary to build muscle memory but as you pointed out it's closer to sliding it almost 80 degrees . I think it's possible I've been training the wrong muscle memory and sliding forward/horizontally too early instead of allowing the board to pop into the air while sliding upwards/vertically. thanks so much for making this video. I hope to apply your insights on my next session.

This is by far the best Ollie tutorial I’ve seen.

I’ve been trying to learn an Ollie for half a year and I’ve never been able to get it and then I watch this video and within 10 minutes I got it. This video is amazing ❤️❤️

Thank you sir! I found I have a really difficult time staying stationary when trying to Ollie. I needed to accept that I was going to fall, get some speed going, and commit. And wouldn’t you know it? After a few falls, I started landing on the board. Your video is legit, hope to see more 👍

Thanks Sage, always love slow motion tutorials and the depth you go in to but the best thing for me was that you flipped the video to help us goofies. Nice original addition.

Your tutorial is much better than the other so you don't repeat the same stuff.there are many points many people don't talk about.thank you!!

I’ve probably watched 40+ video tutorials of Ollie’s and yours is by far the best. Everyone learns differently, but you including the slo mos and real time while you explain and give tips of the trick itself really set you apart.
Thanks for the video and I’ll be watching and subscribing for more tutorials!

OMG I FINALLY DID AN OLLIE! thank you so much for this tutorial. it really gave me perspective of the entire trick and helped me pinpoint what i was missing and what i was timing incorrectly. to add to this for anyone who see this comment -- recording yourself in slow motion and watching the replay can also be really insightful!
