While we're a big fan of the lower and lean method for indeterminate tomatoes (especially smaller varieties like cherries), big ol' beefsteak and other chunky varieties need a little bit more support.
We really like to use these cattle panels bent over. It's a strong trellis and can easily support the heavy fruits. You'll still want to use a clip or string to keep the stalks in order.
