Your Universe Awaits

On a planet, players are equipped with a multi-tool to defend against deadly predator creatures and mine resources. Attacking creatures – aggressive or otherwise – or mining resources will call the attention of the Sentinels, a robotic force who seeks to keep each planet in a natural, undisturbed state. The more you fight back against the Sentinels, the higher your Wanted level, and the tougher they will become – from flying drones to quadrupedal machines, towering walkers and eventually dropships.

Space is also patrolled by the Sentinels, so attacking traders for their valuable goods or scavenging resources from freighters will also see you gaining a Wanted level, with Sentinel police ships coming to defend the natural order.

It’s not just the Sentinels who you need to beware of in space – pirates will swoop on the unwary, requiring you to evade and escape or fight back to defend your cargo.

I'm afraid that once I immerse myself in this game, no other game will captivate me enough to play them and/or go back and play them again. This game will demand so much time, it'll seem as if any other game is completely insignificant.

To the people that say that this game will get boring fast or that it will be disappointing keep this in mind; It will be disappointing. You could be hopping from planet from planet finding nothing and giving you a feeling that space is truly empty but when you find that planet that has something cool like a portal or alien lifeforms or that resource that you were looking for it will create a special moment that will encourage you to keep going on your journey. If everything was so easy to get to then it wouldn't be special or fun. The universe doesn't revolve around you.

I fell like people will hate this game because there just not used to a game that literally put the story in your hands and has no simple objectives to drive the player along. Games these days all hold the players hand all the through while this game encourages you to explore and create your own story and find out more about the underlying lore in this vast universe by playing the game. Gamers today don't have the incentive to play a game that gives you this much freedom. I guess the extreme hugeness of space is still to much for a human brain to perceive even in a video game.

I want to spend at least some time in this game investing in a ship built for combat just so I can take on a gaint tanker by myself and win.
I'll probably also name a planet the "kill planet" where I will go purely to shoot things.

it's AWSOME that a simple equation can create a complex universe that has 18 quintrillion planets. I always wanted a game like this when I was a child, but I though it was impossible. Guess what, 20 days and my dreams becomes

I am buying a PS4 simply for this game. I will buy other exclusives (Uncharted 4, God of War, etc.), but this is the one that I feel like I would be incomplete as a gamer if I don't own it.

The more I see of this game, the more I start getting the feeling it will be disappointing.

Not gonna lie, this video was pretty badly edited, if i'd never heard of no mans sky before then saw this i would absolutely not be interested.

With that being said, as someone that actually is interested, the actual game keeps looking nicer and nicer graphics wise. The draw distance seems to keep getting further and further as well. Also, the diversity of the multi-tool is really cool. At 0:36 it looks like an assault rifle from halo, again at 0:39 it almost looks like a laser rifle from fallout.
