Deep iMPACT! was the first DVD we rented from Blockbuster back in 1999 because my dad had a laptop with a DVD drive that he got from a semiconductor company who he was working for at the time.

This movie stumbles right out of the blocks. Savvy Astro Dad sees distant object.
Oh, it’s probably a satellite.
Satellites orbit the earth once every 90 minutes and travel at 18, 000 mph. You can see them moving. A distant bright object millions of miles from earth would NOT appear to be moving. Bad Dad, stupid Dad.
Where would apocalypse movies be without bad science?
