In-universe explanation: i suspect Palpatine wanted to completely "eliminate" the Jedi Anakin Skywalker. And so, Darth Vader was taller, bulkier, and even sounded completely different. Creating a completely different personae.

The reason why Darth Vader has a different voice is because he was voiced by a different actor lol

Because Anakin Skywalker's from Canada. Darth Vader is from Mississippi raised in Detroit

Most probably it was to do with the mask he wore had that was like a respirator helping to keep him alive and to breathe. A survival suit.🤫🤔🙂👍✌️

I like to imagine that since Vader has become a second to the Emperor, it would make sense for him to acquire a similarly regal and condescending British-esque voice. Think how Leia made fun of Tarkin by slipping her accent when she meets him, but in this case, Vader was emulating the Emperor’s tone.
