To compare different weapons and armor, we conducted an anachronistic duel between a late medieval european knight with poleaxe and dagger and a late medieval russian knight with armingsword and heatershield.

Never quite thought about it. But the helmet shape prevented the axe's shaft from getting around his head for grappling. That's pretty cool!
