Not only will they remain stubborn, but any ati-aging concerns you may have will worsen without sunscreen. Kojic acid, if I'm not mistaken, works by preventing your skin from producing more melanin than whta it's genetically made to for the bare minimum and melanin is what helps protect us from UV rays, which is why the skin will produce more with sun exposure if it doesn't burn. Since your skin isn't able to produce the thing that protects it from UV rays, then it is extra vulnerable to the damage and effects of UV rays, leaving it on you to protect it for it. This could mean that aging effects or damage could be worse if it occurs, so it's important to be diligent while your skin is vulnerable.
I've been using Kojic acid for a little while and even the slightest bit of unprotected overcast sun exposure for about 2 hours the other day undid maybe a week or two of using the kojic acid. Imo it isn't paranoia, it's making sure your efforts don't go to waste or make something worse.
