What is it like to have children you don't want? I can tell you what it's like being the unwanted child. I went to the dentist once in my first 17 years. I had broken my nose twice, and I just had to walk it off. I never saw a doctor. I would get yelled at if my shoes wore out too quick, and they were Payless $19.99 cent shoes. As soon as I was able to drive, the dinner table was only set for two instead of three because I could get my own food. Now, my lunch was a bologna white bread sandwich and an apple for 10 years straight. Fast forward, I moved in with my grandma. She said she would help out with college if I helped out around the house. First few months, she got me to the dentist, fixed all my teeth, and I got some braces on. Second, I was a mouth breather, so I went to a plastic surgeon, fixed my deviated septum right up. She also co-signed on a car loan so I could get around. She embraced every friend that came to the house, while growing my UPF friends hid from my dad because he was so mean. My grandma noticed that I would get home and run to my room, and one day she told me I don't have to hide in there, I can hang out wherever I want. That's the difference between being a burden and being wanted."

I feel so happy that OP has a grandmother who cared for him. Mine don’t love me very much on both sides. One of my grandfathers passed before I was born but the other was my mentor, my inspiration. He got me to love art, and I inherited one of the things he carved recently from my uncle who said (and I quote) “if anybody should have them it should be you.” I plan on learning how to use a Dremel so one side will have my grandfathers art and the other will have mine.

I have been shamed for having an unplanned kid, but being unplanned does not mean being unwanted. My son is my everything, for him I make every sacrifice, all my decisions are considering him. So he may have not been planned, but he is loved. I never wanted kids, but when I got pregnant, I loved him since I saw him in the ultrasound. I cannot understand how there are parents that don't have feelings for their kids.

This is so incredibly sad and i seriously pray you win the lottery. Prayers to and shout out for the grandparents who step up. My own parents are raising my nieces and have been from the age of 2 and the other 13, when i had my own baby they also let me live with them to save up. I hope so badly I can bless them one day, the way they have blessed me and so many other people! This got me teared up and i am so sorry that you had those parents but I am so happy you have the gram that you do. ❤

Best advice I can try to give you is to better your lifestyle and probably just take care of yourself but also take care of your grandma cuz she is there for you and if your parents come back at them for help just tell them you can't help them because you are taking care of your grandma or the person who loves and care for you
