What are the chances of transmitting/getting herpes from our partners? Statistics about transmission of herpes.

One of my OBs told me that since I've never had an outbreak, that my chances of passing it on would be close to zero. I've had 3 OBs since finding out I had herpes, and they all seem to think I'm a carrier and that its just recessive.
That being said, when I'm doing the online dating thing, I usually tell the person the 1st or 2nd day of talking. I'm not trying to waste their time or my time if the person I'm talking to does not want to deal with that. I don't get angry if they don't. I get the stigma around any STDs, but a lot of people fail to realize that its not like we asked for it. Try not to make people feel ostracized for having it.

I have mouth herpes unfortunately and it's not funny, they pop up every once in a while mainly when I'm really stressed out. I was told the 1st time I had it was when I was 10-13. Apparently my grandmother transferred it to me because we were sharing drinks all the time. I don't share drinks with anyone anymore. But I have no idea if that's really how I got this virus or not. She gets them a lot even in her nose. (Poor grandma)
My partner knows and I told them don't come near me if you see a bump near my lips. I always check myself tho because I feel like I'm always stressed out about something.
I do take medicine for it prescribed by my doctor. And I Do take lysine for sometimes but those pills are so damn big I feel like I'm going to choke on them all the time. 😓

That ten percent is how I got it because a man I was sleeping with had it but, no outbreak. I still contracted it. :(

What does 10% mean? What is the frequency of the sexual encounters? If it's 10% per encounter then there is no chance for a long term partnership to not result in both of them having herpes

Nice assumption now my question is... Where the heck did all these illnesses and diseases emerge from. Herpes, syphilis, hiv, aids, gonorrhea and so forth because prostitution has been around for generations but we've never actually had an outbreak of such diseases unlike today yet hygiene and medicine wasn't even decent back then

You are a very very brave lady as for myself, I have been told that since I have never had blisters around my nether area, or on my face, and it’s been twenty plus years now, and the only difference is that there is a knot type attached to my testy, and I have never taken any medication for something that a special beautiful lady told me over 20yrs years ago, and so I have never had the caring touch of a female partner in decades now, and like you said the doctor’s kept telling me the same B.S over this subject, and I have never spoken to anyone else about this problem, and it’s cause of you that I have spoken out to you, I don’t think I could touch a woman or trust a woman anymore

If you have herpes one and two antibodies, how do you know which one is where and if you don’t have outbreaks on your genitals at all? also, do you take lysine and the antiviral at the same time? Is there any interaction between the two?

Kind of freaking out. Noticed some bumps on my stuff. My ex GFs had a 1 night stand before we got together with a guy who had herpes. According to her they used protection, but he didn't tell her til after. She said she was negative, but in hindsight she wasn't the most honest person. We broke up 3 months ago I haven't had any issues until now. I'm worried tho that I have herpes from her. Gonna get tested and hope to God it's negative. She is the only girl I've ever slept with. I'm worried, I know it's not a death sentence or anything, but it will drastically change my life.

I’m the future, please point out that the 10/4% are transmission rates for a couple having sex a few times a week during a year, and avoiding doing it during an outbreak

Not mentioning it makes it seem like it’s 10% per sex session, which means a person will almost surely get it after a few times

This might be a stupid question.. if you and your partner have hsv1 oral (from before you were together as kids)what is the likely hood it will result in transferring to hsv1 genital? And are hsv1 and hsv2 genital the same type of sores?

how many days after contracting herpes on the lips do sores show? i got sores like 5 days ago but have kisses several ppl the last few weeks. none of them had visible sores, BUT 2 weeks ago a girl that i made out with got sick 2 days after we made out. she was rlly ill for over a week and said it was with a uti. i didnt have the sores then or symptoms, but i wonder if its related and if i was asymptotic at the time and she got symptoms first bc shes older..what so u think? thank u 🙏
