The shuttle looks so wacky in 2020, it's a plane stuck to what we imagined a 'rocket' to look like in the 50s.

No doubt that the current method of launching astronauts is safer, more efficient, more cost effective and generally better in most measurable ways. But damn the Space Shuttle was so much cooler.

This is not entirely correct. We all know that Atlantis will be used again later to rescue Spike Spiegel and his Swordfish 2 in earth’s orbit.
