Oh, I thought we were going to solve the equation x^7+x+m=0 and get the solution x in terms of m?

For x⁷ + x + m = 0 to have a root at r, just set x to r, and solve for m. m = -r⁷ - r gives x⁷ + x + (-r⁷ - r) = 0. The only real solution will be x = r.
