😎 Sean Daniel

⭐ Andrea and Sean
--------------------------
A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his YouTube channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

Probably the best video you've released in a year. That was a great explanation and super useful. Nice

Not sure why you don't have 4 million subscribers instead of only 438, 000. Yes, you are that good of a teacher... And your demented sense of humor is worth a least a few million subscribers all on its own. And if this Music/Youtube career doesn't pan out, there is always auctioneering!

Man, I haven't watched Sean for years and I had totally forgotten he existed. Them YT algorithm recommended. I clicked right away and was not disappointed - "wait a minute-AH", "here's the pattern-AH". Listening to this guy I forget he is teaching music :)

Great lesson, Sean! Following the pattern of 4ths does help with memorizing the chords! And just the right amount of talking too! You always keep it interesting.

You’re right about patterns for sure. I’ve played since the sixties, and had chord charts drilled into my brain for so long that after awhile I began to notice the patterns, ie chords that are associated sonically. Anyway I’m bad at explaining what I mean exactly, but I understand what you’re saying here. The old standard songs are full of the interesting chord connections. Good video man.

Thanks! This is exactly what I needed when I needed it. Well, could’ve used it sooner, but I’m really starting to work on songs for performance now

It's been a while since one of your videos popped in my feed (subscriber for years). The math rock joke made me laugh so hard. I made sure I'm set up for ALL notifications. Thanks for the lesson!

Interesting take. There is a different diatonic pattern that I think is easier to memorize: For key of C, try this: 1) the majors are C, D, E, or 1-IV-V from 8th fret THEN 2) the minors are Am, Dm, Em, or 1-IV-V on the 5th fret. Finally, 3) the half-dim 7th is found at B on the 7th fret. Super easy pattern, and lots of youtube videos on it, but they are hard to find.

I still have that memory of my grandmother taking that large grasshopper that had lit upon one of her tomato plants and ripping it apart between her fingers. As the primordial insect goo ran down her stained thumbs, I thought to myself, 'the minor 4 chord can act like a dominant 7th, resolving back to the one'.

I'll never forget that.

Thanks Brother. I appreciate it, all these puzzle pieces fit, once you have the edges built for the frame 🖼 it’s placing the pieces of the puzzle and you are making the picture come together, by filling in the 🧩 pieces. Ty 🙏
