Learn all about boots that any gentleman must have in his shoe closet.

Whether you are only starting to build your shoe wardrobe or if you are looking to add a few more pairs to your collection, this video guide is essential.

1. Chukka boots
- Also called desert boots
- Made of suede
- It adds a different texture to your existing three shoes and you can wear it casually or with a suit.

I prefer them in mid-brown color but note that you should get a color that is different from what you already have to increase versatility.

2. Chelsea boots
- It’s an ankle boot, good for fall and winter
- It has an insert that is flexible on the sides
- Can be worn with suits
-May come with colorful inserts on the side, although it adds character, the shoe becomes less versatile.

In terms of colors, either black or dark brown is preferable so you get to wear it with most of your outfits. If you want to know more about Chelsea boots, which boots I recommend and in different price ranges, please check out our guide.

Wow! Weird to revisit this video so many years later. The camera is so zoomed-in you can barely see your outfit, lol. You've come a long way, Raphael, and so have I. Cheers, and congratulations on 1.5 million+ million subscribers! Keep the great style videos coming.

I am a big fan of both chukkas and chelseas, have a nice pair of both. I mostly wear them with jeans or chinos and a sports jacket. Wearing them with more formal clothing I have not dared yet but will do so, it's a challange I accept. Great video.

I almost neaver comment on a videos more then to give the occational like here and there but this time I just had to say something. The overall quility, thought and knowledge in those videos are superb I have almost nothing to suggest for improvement, by far the best men's style channel on youtube right now. Makes me wonder why I found your channel the last of all of them. Anyways great job you got yourself a new subscriber that will go watch all videos both old and in the future thanks.
Best regards Davíð Gunnarsson.

I know over on the Effortless Gent there is an article about only having 6 shoes. Well mine is longer because of my boots.

I added them not for selfish desire but to give the leather a rest as I wear them quite often. here's my list:

Desert Boot - for summer
Work boot- all around rugged fun
Chukka Boot - for max versatility
Chelsea boot- for the winter when I don't want my ankles cold.

You should do a video on cowboy boots if you haven't. I'm curious to know your opinions on them. The traditional cowboy boot is quite versatile and can be with both casual and dressy clothes. Well depending on the leather of the boot.

I probably own way too many shoes, but I rotate and wear the majority often. That's the problem with formerly working shoe retail.

I have a pair of Dr. Merten's Chelseas, but they don't have that nice decoration on the toes.

I really enjoyed your informative video about boots. I would like to know what do you think about crepe sole footwear, and when crepe sole footwear may be appropriate. My interest is thin and thick (similar to Clarks Wallabees) crepe sole shoes. Your opinion means a great deal to me. Thank you in advance.

Hello Sven, I recently took a look on your website and I really enjoyed the pitti uomo sections, which make me realise that almost every blog or video focuses only in the "peacocky" side of it, so I think it would be great if you could make a video more into its history (I heard Rubinacci saying he's been going since he had 7 years old), when and where it takes place, if it is also an expo and which brands are regular, how much it cost, when it started to gather media attention, etc.

Any way, back to the topic, many years ago I wore only leather boots with my suits, but now a days I actually avoid them cause I'm a short guy and I think they don't really compliment short guys IMHO.

I was just wondering where you got those chelsea boots. I've found they were made by Scarosso, but I didn't see them on their website. Keep up the good work :)

For me, at least, it is really hard to find either chuckas or chealseas that actually fit... I've never seen a pair that's the right size
