Generally speaking, I pick a boot based off the environment I'm going to be using them in, not the cloths I'm wearing.

Not everyone is a hipster. That first pair are most definitely not work boots.

Those "work boots" have never seen a day's work in their existence and would get you kicked off any work site you tried to walk onto.

My opinion, Every person only Needs 3 boots.
1) Confidence boosters. For dates and job interviews.
2) Work boots. Safety toe and Non-Slip sole are required.
3) Bad Weather boot. Whatever the Worst possible weather is where you live, make sure you have a boot that can make you comfortable in that.

My Personal 5 must have Boots:
1. Winter Boots (its cold where i live so i need something insulated)
2. Timbs (Everyone should wear a good pair of Timbs. Perfect to pull up on the Ops)
3. Chelsea Boots (Look neat, can be worn for house inspections, job interviews or a date)
4. Your Everyday Boot (Walking around the Garden, running erands, walk the dog, do a small hike to a sunset spot)
5. Work Boots (Some Redwings or Redbacks. Something you can wear cutting wood, carrying heavy sh*t and making dirty.)

If you've got very long feet (US 13 or longer), anything with a plain toe box looks like a clown shoe. Chukka boots are off the table for homo-sausagefoot. You need some kind of toe cap or detailing to draw the eye, or you need to wear very dark shoes, as they look shorter.
I have a pair of light coloured desert chukka boots that I can never wear in public 😅
