I felt like they threw the whole 'never be alone in the garden, or anywhere alone with a member of the opposite sex' thing right out the window. ALL KINDS of unmarried people were alone in gardens and house rooms this season. What are the rules here?

It’s almost as if producers didn’t think Colin and Pen could carry the love story on their own so they had to crowd the season with a bunch of other characters.

I hated that there were so many competing storylines. If they are going to have so many then they need to make it 12 episodes long instead 8. Everything seems really rushed.

You know why we love Jane Austen - she takes the time needed to tell a well-rounded story. This season doesn’t do it., everything’s too rushed. And I somehow take offense at the change in costumes, hair styles and decorations that are overly done. It’s like someone thought, ‘ let’s push past elegant to gaudy.’

I also found it odd how prior seasons focused so much on how the main love story/couple couldn’t be alone and Polin seem to be alone together a lot with no one noticing

WWow you are so correct regarding noticing the change in handgloves from classy to attention grabbing and cheap class 'see through', change of vocabulary regarding using wrong words, cheap material of dresses, Cressida's odd outfits with repelling styles of sleeves and more importantly different layers of Cressida shown compared to Colin who is supposed to be the main protagonist of this Season 3.

Season 3 felt very much inspired by TikTok. Even the camera angles weren’t as steady, it made me nauseous in a few scenes how fast it was moving. This season wasn’t slow or romantic at all.

I totally agree with you! I noticed all you are saying and felt bridgerton had “lost its essence”. I didnt know they had changed the director! Now my perception makes sense! Thank you for the info!

I’ve always loved the costumes but this season was way too modern and inconsistent it took me out of the show. They look like they all come from different eras rather than people who live in the same time, same class, go to the same shops, have access to similar materials etc

Should have had more episodes to give time to adequately develop story. Trying to cram too much into too little time takes away from the story. I love this season thus far, but I do agree that stories are rushed, lacking depth and/or context.

Season three has been a huge let down for me… it’s more about the sex and nudity and outlandish than the simply beautiful and purposeful story telling of the previous two seasons. I’m not happy with it so far, and from what I’ve heard about part two it’s only going to get worse.

Totally agree! I want to elegance of the 1st 2 seasons, but keep Penelope glammed up. She’s stunning! Also, they need to stop with the insane sleeves for Cressida, ugh. Love Eloise’s dresses though this season. She looks more grown up.

All we know about Colin: He has been to 17 cities😀

I couldn't agree more. I barely saw Pen And Colin on screen. Colin was just upset the whole part 2

I didn't want him to crawl, bawl and beg lol 🙄. I think he always loved her. He just needed the kiss to realize it. You're kidding yourself if you think Penelope wouldn't accept Colin's love declaration immediately, as much as she loves him.
We're only halfway through the season. A lot can happen in the next 4 episodes, at the pace they're going.

As I see it, the Mondrich storyline is very symbolic: because at this time the industrial revolution was rolling in and things like being a gentleman without a trade wasn't about to be glorified for much longer.

I like the Featherington story and Francesca’s story. The Mondrich story could be shorter. Tired of Benedict fooling around. Do we need Lady Danbury’s brother? I’d rather that be a spinoff, if anything. I agree that thus far, the season’s side stories are somewhat taking over.

I feel cheated that we didnt get any flashbacks of their relation ship to when they were young and their first meeting would have been great to see instead of just hearing about it. Would gladly have lost the danburys brother story arc to make time for just that and i think it would have helped colins arc. I do think the fans have missed the subtleties in his story being shown as luke and nicola are both doing amazing work with a less appealing script. Would prefer it if the old showrunner came back. Also cressidas wardrobe was like its own storyline that didnt need to happen

True this isn't like any season, but Penn and Collin aren't like the previous couples. They have known each other pretty much their whole lives. Catchy phrases and will they won't they won't they work on them the same way. Even Benedict's raking around has a purpose. the excitement is in what will happen when Collin finds out Penn is lady Whistledown. Which is probably why everyone else' story is being focus on now so that there is more to loose when it's revealed.
