i have used the pouch style batteries in my r/c hobby cars and they tend to puff up after a short time and go bad. id like to see how they are after 6 months of discharging and recharging.

That would surely be nice on an impact driver, where the difference between the 2ah and 5ah batteries is drastically apparent both in terms of (increased for the latter) weight and (reduced for the former) weight! I shudder at the price, whatever that turns out to be as DeWalt batteries have gone bonkers in the last year.

I bout two and use em on the new dcf850 and I can say for sure it doesn’t last as long as the 2ah and I cannot tell if it has more power or not, it might but it’s close

P.S. one thing about the new battery idea looks like it is a lithium-ion battery type which is many lithium-ion batteries issues for overheating and also the sensitivity of heat elements and causing a fire.
I hope, this Dewalt battery is safe for use under any circumstances.

so the power stack battery has more surface area on the electrodes, but you sacrifice charge life for peak amperage. I guess it keeps you from cooking off your drills if you don't bog them down as much and have to stop to swap batteries more often.

I don't care that it's more powerful than a 2amp battery put it against a 5amp or 6amp battery if it can match the power of those batteries then it might be worth the extra cheddar they charge

What you guys COMPLETELY forget is that it's a LESS than 2 amp hour battery! This is a useless review because after drilling 4 holes, that battery is done for a while. Put it on the charger. If you're in the trades, who is ever going to use a 2 aHr battery? Put a 5 on it and you don't have to run to the charger every hour!. What a useless review and useless idea by Dewalt. Now if they want to sell some batteries, build a 5 aHr power stack! I do more before lunch time than drill 4 holes in a timber and my battery might go on 2-3 tools before it goes to the charger again. Power stak will need to last 4 years because it'll be on the charger all the time. It'll blast out the power for 5 minutes before it falls completely on it's face. Worthless.

DeWalt already has too many battery options, so lets hope this cell phone tech will replace their existing small capacity batteries.
